Beale Air Force Base is located in Yuba County, California, approximately 45 miles north of Sacramento..   In January 1966, the very first SR-71 Blackbird to enter into service was delivered to the 4200th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing at the base. The 9th Reconnaissance Wing is now the host wing flying both the SR-71 and the RQ-4.
